Different kinds of locks for devices

Description of device locks 

BIOS lock - needs admin password to access or modify the BIOS. Can't boot from anything not the default option.
Computrace - Managed BIOS lock. Requires communication with Absolute (company who makes Computrace), or the organization who managed the machine.
SED / OPAL - Self-encrypting drives have a PSID printed on the drive which must be entered into WipeOS to erase the drive and reset the built-in encryption keys. This feature has been in WipeOS since 2.4.13
Secure Boot - Does not allow the machine to boot any operating system which does not have the corresponding certificates. WipeOS requires Secure Boot be disabled to boot on machines
Bitlocker - Disk level encryption. Can still wipe any drive with Bitlocker, which also erases the Bitlocker encryption
Apple MDM Activation Lock (User) - Device is already assigned to another user. The user the device is assigned to must release the device via Apple
Apple MDM Activation Lock (Organization) - A company has assigned this machine to their system. Must request release from the organization, who then removes device from management software (JAMF, etc)
Find My Mac / Find My Iphone - Device is marked as missing by previous user. Must contact the user to release the lock.
Microsoft Autopilot - Machine has been managed by an organization. Must request release from organization, who then removes it from Azure/Microsoft management system
