How Do I Boot A MacBook to WipeOS?

Performing a boot on MacBook to WipeOS

1) Make a WipeOS USB drive

2) Plug the WipeOS USB drive into the MacBook.

2a) Depending on the MacBook, you may need a USB-A to USB-C adapter (see image below). If it has one USB C port, you can use a USB hub.

3) Plug an ethernet cable from the WipeOS appliance into the MacBook via an Ethernet-to-USB connector.

3a) You may need another USB-A to USB-C adapter if the computer has only USB-C ports.

4) Turn on the MacBook and hold down the option key. When prompted select EFI Boot option.

5) Finally, select Ethernet Boot Apple to boot the MacBook into WipeOS.

5a) If you are booting a 2016 or newer MacBook, select the Ethernet Boot Apple 2016+.

5b) Since Apple has many different versions of their hardware, sometimes the screen may stay black. If a black screen occurs, use Ethernet Boot Apple 2016+ option (see 5a).

6) When the WipeOS logo is present on the machine, it is safe to unplug the USB drive and use it to boot another computer.
