RAID Cards in IT Mode
Benefits of RAID cards that are flashed to IT mode

Many WipeOS users have seen improved performance and wiping speeds when using RAID cards that are flashed to IT mode. This has been a great way to improve the loose drive wiping hardware configuration.
Some machines may have RAID cards which are notoriously
slow, for various reasons. The most common offender are
PERC variants:
PERC 5/E, 5/I, 6/E, 6/I |
S100, S110, S130, S300 |
H200, H310, H330, H345 |
H700, H710, H470p, H730, H740p, H745, T745p MX, H755, H755N |
H800, H810, H820, H840 |
E208, P408, P816, P204, P408, P416, P204 |
P420, H420, P440 |
To see if any machines you are using for a wipe server has one of the above cards, click on the blue information button on the right hand size.
If you want to have a machine with PERC card as part of your permanent wiping rig, we would strongly suggest upgrading to a card that has been flashed to IT mode, which is hardware JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks).
To find out which card to buy, please look inside the server to see the connector from the backplane (where the drives are plugged in to the card.)
If you are still unsure we can help by auditing your hardware.
to achieve faster wiping times.
